V is for...
the virgin snow that fell overnight...
the varied thrush that tried to find somewhere to land...
the veil created by the snow on old oregano branches...
the vigor of a squirrel trying to gobble up all the sunflower seeds.
This last (I hope) blast of winter is pretty today. Tomorrow, I expect it to have put on raincoat and boots, picked up the umbrella and sloshed back to the Arctic.

Lovely photographs - if only winter wasn't so cold!
Well, this makes for some great pictures!! I LOVE the thrush and have never seen one like that!!
I did a double take at first, then realized that some are lucky to still be having winter. Your pictures are just beautiful!
It does look lovely in your garden. I think it's a perfect day to lay low and knit.
The treasures of the snow! Great pictures all.
Lucky, lucky you!
Lol re expecting it to have buzzed off tomorrow!
The pictures are beautiful, Stephanie, and making me jealous. I particularly love the one of the squirrel, I can almost feel his hurry to get some food into his system.
Hey! I just posted a photograph of a mystery bird on my blog, then visited yours and lo and behold--you have identified it for me. I've heard of a varied thrush but never seen one until the other day. Isn't blogland wonderful?
Cause I don't have to live in it, I still can see the beauty of it -the oregano branch is my favorite:) Keep warm (and dry):)
Looking at your great photos & wanting to cool off - not working. Still in the high 30s C (that's 95 F)
I heard you guys had got snow, pretty unusual for you isn't it at this time of year?
