I hook rugs, I knit and I have a life - not always in that order. Hooking rugs in the traditional way is a passion. Knitting is a way of keeping those idle hands busy. In my life, I am a mother, partner, sister, aunt, friend and a happy grammy. I work with volunteers and seniors when I'm not doing those other things. I enjoy being creative - and often reinvent the wheel. Above all, I value things that are not only beautiful but useful.

A - Z Challenge: Assortment
This is the first day of the rest of April's A-Z Challenge. I always like to have a little preview of coming attractions, so here is one for you.
I know that some participants will have themes and that's a great way to focus one's thoughts. Unfortunately, I'm a pretty unfocussed person. My mind is a jumble of the many things I'm interested in. or the many things I'd like to be interested in. Or the many things I can dabble in each day. Whatever...my mind is crowded. This blog allows a little to leak out and relieve the pressure.
Today, I'm thinking about getting out in the garden while the weather is half-decent. There are always interesting photos in the garden. This is a new-born rhubarb leaf.
Of course, I'll be thinking about knitting.
And maybe I might think about hooking a rug. These days, I'm more likely to be remembering since I'm too busy to get stuff out at the moment. Or, if I have an idea, then it's a plan for the future.
My volunteer job as president of a seniors' association keeps me busier than I anticipated. I get to represent our group in the community and there are huge rewards. But also some huge headaches. Mostly, it's fun.
Of course, I also think about kids. They are always laughing off in a sunny corner of my brain.
'Assortment' is my A-word for today. It's not too late to play along, visit here for more.

That is an amazing assortment. Is that skate a button? Cute!
This A-Z thing sounds interesting. I might check it out.
Love your pictures and content!
an assortment of things to do keeps one from getting bored.
I blog on A-ssorted things too!
Popping in by way of the A-Z Challenge. I’m blogging at:

Since it's April Fool's Day, I'm wondering about that rhubarb leaf. It looks like something you knitted!!! Or even a chenille plant. How very odd!!
Like Ginny I thought the rhubarb leaf looked a bit like something knitted. I love the idea of things leaking out of a crowded mind into your blog. I totally get that.
I'm also joining up with A-Z and like you I don't have a theme--just whatever comes into my head that day.

Great assortment :O)
Love those piccies !
Hmmmmm - I, too, am suspicious of the 'baby' rhubarb leaf but as a fellow knitter I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt!!
Looking forward to what you have lined up for 'B' in this series!
SueH I refuse to go quietly!
It's a baby rhubarb leaf...honest! Just taken with a macro lens.
And here was me thinking it was a photo of your brain!!!
I will be looking forward with anticipation to your wonderful ideas. Loved all the pictures of the grandkids in the past couple of days.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am always impressed with the knitting skills I see on knitter blogs. Way to go. :)
just wrote a sticky note to put a pot over my rhubarb to force it, as our snow should be gone in a few days......I hope!!

I love that: "allows a little to leak out to relieve the pressure." I guess we all need to do that. I have so many interests, I don't know what to do next. Sometimes my huge amount of thoughts make me inactive because I don't know what to do next. But I just remind myself, that's what keeps me interesting, and I keep going.
