It was too hot to knit anything bigger than a sock and, anyway, I'd just finished a pair. So what can you do with leftover sock yarn? I'm glad you asked. You make a dodecahedron star, of course.
I like a challenge. And it could be sold at a craft sale, or given away to a baby or...
It turned out to be less challenging than fiddly. But that's OK, too; I like to fiddle sometimes. I had fun knitting it and that's what counts.
And, in the end, it makes me smile. I may keep it just for that.
It is very cute!!
ReplyDeletethats amazing, it must of been very fiddly to make.
ReplyDeleteYou asked me what lap lap is - well it is the national food of Vanuatu.
It is made of Maniac or tapioca, it is cooked wrapped in banana leaves and under the ground in the embers. The maniac is covered with coconut cream and other things; spinach, fish, chicken, banana or pawpaw etc before it is wrapped up tightly in the leaves. It is basically a starch like our potatoes or rice, a solid block of cream coloured sort of thick jellish substance, I quite like it.
In NZ people would buy a hot pie, in USA maybe a hamburger or hot dog, when hungry in Vanuatu they buy lap lap.
I shall continue to tell the story of our cruise in the next few My Worlds.
Cheers Glennis.
I love it!
ReplyDeleteSomehow it reminds me of E.T.- does it speak "phone home"??
