Vancouver has some new Biennale art installations around the city.
This one is downtown near the entrance to Stanley Park.
Since I have a board meeting today, this group seemed to be perfect for this Ruby Tuesday. Thanks to Mary T for hosting this meme. You can visit her here and find some great photos with their red showing.
This is great. A nice surprise in the next picture when I saw there were so many! Are they stone? Are they colored that way or painted? Very unusual!
ReplyDeleteWow. those are really interesting. they sort of look like living sculptures.
ReplyDeleteNow I see from reading the sign that it's painted bronze! What board are you on? I only just now saw your post from yesterday; it kind of snuck by me before! So cute! We're going to a gingerbread competition today.
ReplyDeleteI saw the first, and I thought red Chinese...then the group, all in the same pose.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good post for the meme, but I think the sculpture is rather strange....
Incredible series of statues! This is a perfect and original chocice for RT. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDimple - you're not alone. Many of these installations are controversial. I sometimes think they choose them for their "love'em or hate'em" quality.
ReplyDeleteGinny - I chair the board of our seniors assoc.
What a fantastic offering for RT. Definitely Ruby.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting sculptures. I like how they are such a bright and vivid red color.
ReplyDeleteAnd I suppose if all board meetings were held like this there would be no chance of anyone falling asleep. :)
If you'd like to stop by my blog I'm at Cake Crumbs.
That's cool. They look like monks in red.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely perfect for RT! I made myself laugh when I quickly read your blog title as Honkin Knittin & livin. I've got to slow down LOL!
ReplyDeleteFun sculptures! I think I need to research this more. :)
ReplyDeleteI like it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect find for Ruby Tuesday; but painting bronze seems such a shame.
Great find!
We do have something similar but they are yellow and the do sit on bicycles - art is interesting and so different!
ReplyDeleteLike the small gingerbread houses.
Will they eat them later?

Have you learnt to squat like that? I joined a Tai Chi Club, and I couldn't squat like that.
ReplyDeleteI will tell you when I find out if Albert Chan is my cousin, then I can take you to all the free rides on the tram. LOL
Snow fallen yet?
