Ruby Tuesday

I've never been a big fan of smoke trees - so named because their flowers become plumy clouds of gray when they go to seed. But when I saw this one yesterday, I thought it would be perfect for Ruby Tuesday.



How could a stitcher resist the red blanket stitch around the edge of each leaf?

    Interesting...I've never heard of smoke tress. The ruby red outline definitely adds pizazz!

    Mimi, Rudee - it's a lot redder in reality and the leaves are more purple. And stitchery is never far from my mind.
    Junie - I'm still not a fan. I've never seen one with the red edges before - I think this must ahve been a special one. The plain purple leaf variety is very common here, though.
