Ruby Tuesday

Can you see him?

That's a varied thrush snacking on the mountain ash berries.  Yesterday was the first day this fall for the thrushes and their cousins, the robins, to come and feast.  Lots of berries have fallen but there's still enough left for a party.

Today is Ruby Tuesday and those who play on Mary T's wonderful meme have posted their photos with a touch of red.  Visit here to see them all.

  1. Oh this is such a great photo! It almost felt like an old game of Where's Waldo! Just kidding. I love the red and yellow combination in the photo though, very nicely done!

  2. I think that bird can have a feast with all those berries. Great shot for RT.

  4. Our tree has berries until the dead of winter. In one fell swoop, the birds descend and pick it clean in about 2 days. It happens every January--usually after a big snow.

Your photo is beautiful, with just the right dash of red for Ruby Tuesday.

  5. It is so hard to photograph birds - you did a wonderful job. We have the same berries here in NC.

  10. The varied thrush looks like he's enjoying its feast.

This autumn I missed the robins eating our mountain ash berries.
Unfortunately a late spring frost prevented pollination so no berries.
