Ruby Tuesday

What do you do with leftover red bulky yarn in your stash?  Why, you knit a Ruby Tuesday tea cozy, of course!



I won't save it just for RT, though.  I was needing a bit of a color pick-me-up.  Winter in the Pacific Northwest always seems to need a lot of color boosts.

    Oh I would love to have an easy pattern for a tea cozy. Would you mind sharing a pattern...EASY being the most important thing here. I can knit but it has been ever so long since I have done anything but a scarf or a shawl.

    Hip - I just make up these tea cozy patterns as I knit...I'll try to write it down. I'll let you know if it works. Then I'll happily share it.

    I bought a lovely one just before Christmas on Etsy, but it's too nice for a tea cosy and I'm oging to use it as a hat, I'll post it for today's RT- thanks for the inspiration!

    What a lovely, cheery color! You are so talented to make it up without a pattern or anything. It's so pretty that a person really needs to wear it. Speaking of that, you said this was leftover, so I would like to see what you did with the rest of it.

    I used to do a lot of knitting, but then my left arm got a chronic inflammation.
    I sometimes can't help myself, but knit something anyway.
    This teapot warmer was original never seen anything like it.
    It looks very thick and sure does a good job while being decorative as well.

    Hi Stephanie, me again! Thanks for your comment over at mine. The inspiration for using the tea cosy as a hat was actually my daughter's, I'd love to claim credit but I'd never think that laterally.
    Yes, it is felted, I got a couple of lovely felted Christmas gifts on Etsy, but this was definitly the nicest. I like the veins through it too, but I really love the roses sewn on.

    I thought it was a hat! Once I read tea cozy, I spotted the spout of the pot. :P
