Mellow Yellow Monday

My first Mellow Yellow for 2010.   We took this photo of a chickadee inspecting the new house yesterday. I know it's not really yellow but the new wood has a certain glow, I think. We were so excited to see a bird actually show some interest in our little house!

He did actually poke his head right inside the entry several times.  And there was another chickadee sitting in a nearby tree, watching - whatever that might mean.  In any case, they flew away together.  Maybe our house offering wasn't quite what they wanted?

Mellow Yellow Monday is hosted by Drowsy Monkey.  Every Monday we can visit here and see a huge variety of yellows to begin the week with a spark.

  2. We have chickadees around here in the winter. They are so cute and do such acrobatics! I don't know how you got that picture, as they never seem to be still more than a few seconds. By clicking on it, I can really see the details on his feathers and face. I hope a pair finds your box, it will make them a splendid winter home.

  4. Id say one was a scout, but they decided not to stay this time in case they were being watched, or photographed to be put on a website!
They'll be back, I've no doubt about that, cos they'll know they've got a welcome.
The house does have a yellow glow, Stephanie.

  8. I am sure you will soon have new residents in your little bird house, once Mr Chickadee has convinced Mrs Chickadee.
