Evidence

Guess who came to dinner last night?

This morning I noticed these prints on the glass patio table.

Yup, definitely raccoons.   The chairs are mud-printed, too, so maybe they've been watching us?   Our next-door neighbors have a pond where they can wash the veg they steal from our garden.  A table and chairs? - just the next logical step.

Guess who was on our roof last night - yep, a raccoon! What's going on?

  3. Oooh, i'll have to google racoons now, as we don't have them in Ireland.
I take it you didn't issue a dinner invitation?

  4. These are terrific photos. It took me a moment to see the prints. No raccoons up here, that I know of, just mischievous squirrels and chipmunks. When our son lived in Victoria an entire family of raccoons used to come in the evenings to his patio door and look through the glass. Probably the previous tenants fed them.

  5. Hi again Stephanie, I googled raccoons and it sounds like it will be difficult to get them to leave. Do keep us updated, please.

  6. Mimi - we're lucky. The raccoon family just travels through during the night. Most nights, we only hear them but sometimes they leave evidence.

EG - maybe they're travelling from your place to ours? That's a bit of a hike in one night, though.
