Ruby Tuesday

At first I thought this photo would be all grays.  Our recent rain was more like fog that was full of heavy mist that soaked everything right through.

This giant fir seemed to loom through the fog.   But, wait!  The framing trees are mountain ash and the berries are beginning to ripen and turn red. I kind of like the color and b/w effect.

For more Ruby Tuesday photos, visit Mary T here.  There's lots more red to see.

  1. Oh, my!! This is quite splendid, a study in contrasts. But it can work on so many different levels. The shrouded grey tree and the bright berry laden one, wonderful!

  2. I love the giant fir lurking in the mist. Like you I would have thought everything would have been gray, this is a great shot. The red berries do add a nice touch of color.

  5. Isn't it summer where you are? Fog too invaded you. Not nice. I hope nobody ventures into the forest.

  8. Hi Stephanie, I'm playing catch-up again!
This is a fab photo- it looks as though the giant fir is behind glass or something.
I like how you cropped the pic to show off the height of the trees too.
    Happy RT.

  9. The red berries gave the shot just enough color for interest with the fog - lovely shot!
