Random thought

My reading was interrupted so I put the bookmark between the pages and closed the book.

Now I've been wondering - for the past two hours - why do we always put a bookmark at the top of the book?  And do we all do this?

There.  That thought can stop traveling around my brain.  I'd better go do something useful.

Yep, always at the top for me. Though, sometimes, I will put it under the sentence I stop at so I won't have to re-read to find it. LOL

Yikes, I have no idea! I guess it looks nice and orderly that way?

I watched Katie put it in the bottom of the book yesterday! I was surprised, thought it was wrong but stopped myself from saying anything. After all, did it actually matter. Why can't bookmarks go at the bottom. It isn't like she'll actually stand the book up on a shelf. That would be a minor miracle.

What do you mean by putting a book mark at the top of the page? Do you mean turning down a corner? If so, I used to do that but feel guilty doing so. I like to use a piece of paper...doesn't have to be a real book mark. But a pretty bookmark looks nicer. I use whatever is at hand.

I think some bookmarks are definitely meant to be seen. Others, like scraps of paper, not so much.
