I'm not a very accomplished ranter. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Since I'm
I do have a bit of a beef, though, with Blogger. I like to use photos - a lot. You may have noticed. And I have been merrily uploading since 2008. Sometimes, I'll even upload a photo and then not use it. Oh, the profligacy! Because, what is not spelled out when you sign up is that there is a limit to the size of the photo storage box - or whatever the Blogger equivalent is. I hit that limit yesterday as I was uploading my queens.
I was instructed to begin paying...which is totally reasonable and I'm not ranting about that part. I just don't like getting sucked into something that is so much a part of my life and then being told that the ground rules have changed. They probably haven't changed at all. I just didn't know. Betcha a lot of folks don't know until the big box covers their screen and says they've hit the wall. My immediate solution was to dive into Picasa - which is not my normal photo storage site - and start to delete. Of course, there are dire warnings that the deleted photos will be gone from one's hard drive. I only got rid of two because I didn't have time to fiddle around yesterday. They were a couple that I didn't use and I hope my solution doesn't make a difference to previous blogs.
So, that's it. Blogger, you should have said up front. Now I'm going through the Picasa albums I never really knew I had. I know, I know. Dumb. Where did I think the photos were going?
And that's why I'm not a very good ranter....I calm down and see the other side pretty quickly. Doesn't mean I think they're right...but I get that others need to control their universe, too. Must be that other R-word: respect.

I have been aware of this from the start with blogger, and some time ago, they did send an email regarding their change to picassa storage system. It's been a couple of years. Each time I've uploaded photos, I've noted how many megabytes are left in the freebie side of things.
I was a little bummed with the change of the photos, which used to have their own url when you clicked on them. I missed that memo!
I admit that I occasionally rant on my blog when I'm annoyed. It helps to vent!
That problem with Blogger does deserve a rant. Like you I always add photos, sometimes a lot of photos. It's good to be aware of this looming problem and they really should warn you before you get to the end of the free storage space.
I hit that point last year but, for some reason, I knew it was coming. I don't remember how I knew, but I did. But the ranting thing? I can do that any time, any day, anywhere at all! Just ask those around me. I may have even ranted about the picture issue. LOL
I hit that wall a few years ago and was also surprised and a little annoyed. Good thing the extra storage is so cheap or I'm not sure what I would have done. I can't be bothered to go through the albums.. I have no idea which ones I've used or not. What bugs me is that sometimes when I upload photos I can't see them in the upload window when I go to post the 2nd one so I end up reuploading!
I agree...I can accept many things if I know what to expect but don't change the rules on me midstream! I'm also not a ranter; a waste of energy most times...
great 'r' word...
A lot of people have issues with Google, who buys everything up, including Blogger and then proceed to change things. I paid $5.00 last December, for the second year of some sort of photo storage. I don't even know what. I have to clean out my Picasa too. So much work, when all you want is to have fun!
Blogger has always been this way, and I didn't know either till I hit the limit. But I don't mind. They provide so much for us, and you can buy loads of more space for only five dollars! I think that is a bargain!
News to me too, but I don't even begin to understand Blogger. I just type and upload, don't know how to get photos to enlarge when you click on them (apart from the first one), and know nothing about Picasa.
Oh dear, I can see a bill looming!
It feels mean to suck you in and then up the charges.
Think this comment is turning into a rant Stephanie!
I've never given this photo storage issue a single thought...I guess I need to pay more attention. Thanks for a very helpful rant!
