KAL done!

By this time I'm not knitting along with anyone.  Here it is...

I could no longer even walk into the sewing room because The Cardi was just waiting like an elephant in the corner.   So, for the past two days, whenever there's been some spare time, I've been seaming.  OMG, I hate this part!    I'm smiling because it's done and the sun is so warm - for about two minutes.

It's great to have the right tools! Laziness is always a factor when I work.  There I was with the sweater pieces in hand and I'd forgotten my pins.  I was so-o far away from my knitting gear and right beside me were the clips that I use to play hairdresser to the Barbies.

They worked wonderfully!  So well  that I will probably not use those slippy, slide-y plastic pins again.  I'll be watching for those clips when the dolls arrive.

So,finishing is a big relief - and I have a new, warm cardi to wear in our winter freeze.  I like the clear weather and the crisp, cold is great for walking.  Nice to have all those wooly hats and gloves now.
Tomorrow, I'll tell you why it takes two days to seam a sweater - once I've started, that is.

And to show that I've learned nothing...here's what made me buy the newest Interweave Knits:

It looks great! I love the way the pockets flow out of the "button" band (or what ever you want to call it).

I just love this style cardigan, and the color looks so good on you!! Almost too pretty to wear! I went back and looked at your Barbie post to see what the deal is with the dolls. Very enjoyable! What a makeover you did!! Even the one with the shorn hair and the one with the blue marker on her face came out like they are supposed to look that way. Were you ever a hairdresser or involved in fashion? Are you a volunteer; and where are they getting the Barbies from? Barbies?

Oh, that sweater is lovely. I can see why that band piece was tricky, I have never seen construction like that either.

That's such an excellent sweater. AND I love the colour too. Nice work Stephanie.

Congratulations! It's gorgeous! My cardi has been languishing behind the chair in my sunroom. After feeling guilty for not working on it, I decided to put it in time-out until Christmas break. I'm knitting gifts until then. Hope you took copious notes on the tricky parts so you can rescue me!

Oh! It's so pretty! I love the color, too. It looks great on you. Thanks for the tip about seaming. I have a cardi that's been staring me down every time I walk in the door. It's on a dress form and only needs the button band and sleeve seams. Oh, and 9 buttons. And the button hole band. Sheesh. I'm such a slacker.

I love that sweater from the new IK, too. Maybe we need a January KAL???

Your card was worth all the effort, it fits well and suits you. Pretty colour.

You've done a marvellous job of it, Stephanie, however long it took. I know it sometimes seems forever when a project drags, but hey, look at how long you'll be wearing it for!

What a good job you did, colour looks great on you.
I've just finished reading 'the Beach Street Knitting Society and Yarn Club' by Gil McNeil. Think all you knitters would like it - quite amusing (warning, it does have 4 letter words mainly the one beginning with F) I enjoyed it very much.
