Ruby Tuesday

Since 2009 has almost gone, it seems appropriate to use a photo from the beginning - when the year was new!

This is the only one of our Stellar`s jay visitors to actually knock on the door to demand peanuts.

One time, he (or she, who knows for sure)  did actually fly through the open door and sit on a chair waiting for breakfast!

Thanks to Mary T for hosting Ruby Tuesday here.  Pay her a visit...you don`t even have to knock first.

Happy New Year to all!

What a wonderful picture!! We are birdwatchers, so I just had to click and get a close look. He's all puffed up for warmth! A Stellar's Jay! We don't have them here. We have blue jays instead. I'm glad to see one up close.

Wow, it's a beauty! I've never seen a Stellar's jay, maybe if I put out some peanuts one will knock on my door...

Brilliant shot, Stephanie! It's amazing that (s)he came through the door and waited to be fed.
And I love the reference to knocking at Mary T's door!

What a great photo of the Stellar's Jay. When we lived in Portland, OR I had one that would do that. She would come right to the door and even take peanuts out of my hand.

Oh, how lucky you were, Stephanie, to have the bird fly right in and wait for the little meal. Talk about trust - or perhaps he/she was just a brazen little birdie. LOL
