Dessert!

I picked these berries for our dessert.  The strawberries are so small but very sweet - like wild berries.

And while I was standing in the hot sun picking the blueberries, I was carried back in time to when I picked blueberries as a kid - for money, not dessert!   It felt just the same: walking on field grass and carefully taking off only the ripe ones.  I must be older, though, since I wasn't eating any while I picked.

Walking through the tall plants in the garden, I brushed against the lavender.  Such a wonderful scent rose up.  Lavender in the sun is way more exotic than my old days on the blueberry farm.

I'm celebrating Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday with this photo.  Do visit and see what other people are celebrating.

I enjoyed the story, took me back when I was younger felt so sick in the stomach after eating too much guavas straight from the tree :D... Now my mouth is watering thinking about the desert :)

Here is my Mellow Yellow Monday post.

Nice! I recognize it all, the "professional" picking as well. Still remember my secret spots in the forest :-)

A pretty fruity picture, to be sure! I love lavender and we have lots around here. It's what I use to practice taking bee pictures! You have put lovely pictures in my head.

I have a sudden yen for vanilla ice cream topped with a smooth raspberry sauce. Throw in some peaches and we'll just call it peach melba. Yum.

I love the smell of fresh lavender.

Beautiful berries! My daughter and sil grow some blueberries on their place in Oregon and I am missing them (both people and berries ;>).

We used to do a lot of U-pick strawberries back in our other life. However you get ahold of them, they are delicious!

And to add to these beauties one can now add red currents (once banned in the US) and black currents.
As a child I recall a rich stew made out of these soft fruits!

I have read a couple of days ago that berries could help us look younger. I like raspberries better than blueberries. Enjoy your berries!

They look so yummy! And berries are soooo good for you- mind you, I'd eat the vanilla icecream suggested above too!
It is a blessing to have lovely fresh foods growing, isn't it?
