1953

No, I haven't started reading an actual book for the Time Machine reading challenge.  I got caught up in Rudee's suggestion for a Knitalong from that year.  I went looking for 1953 knitting patterns...

Whaddaya think?  This project could be a long one...ha, ha, ha.

On the other hand, a long piece of mind-consuming lace could be just what I need to take my mind off the other problems challenges I have on the community side of life.  Too bad I can't even use the excuse of a paycheck for all this 'toil and trouble' on the job.  This, too, shall pass but it's harder than a gallstone.

So sorry your community work is proving such a problem. You deserve to knit a beautiful pair of 1953 lace socks as compensation!

Oh, goodness, sorry for your continuing problems. You really have a good and caring heart to do all this on a volunteer basis, hang in there! You need to knit something bright and cheerful!!! Maybe even wacky!

I too am sorry to hear of ongoing problems.
"This too shall pass" is always a good motto.
And yes, I think that knitting those beautiful lace socks (even a shorter version of them!) would be the perfect antidote to the troubles.
Time to cast on!

I'm impressed with your potential endeavor into massive sock knitting. I think those would be beyond my patience. Can you show me something in a cute ponytail holder?

Those are amazing though and sort of racy in a way.

The lace would definitely help to take your mind off any problems. Sorry to hear of your "challenges" with the volunteer work but having done much of it I do understand.

I think a pair of BRIGHT RED stockings would make everyone sit up & take notice of you!! Makes you wonder sometimes if the 'community' really deserves volunteers.

I could be in left field or barking up the wrong tree but sometimes a small break is necessary. I know for 5 years I was strong in volunteering running and running and was a someone, then when I stopped all of a sudden. I was a mer castaway no one had use for. The feeling is weighing the pay is lessening and the lesson is lingering. The ident word below is supress-hum
