Chattin'

I think the work of the past few weeks is just about over.  The sun is out this morning and I'm taking that as an omen.  I can put aside all the stress and strains and just relax.  It's time to go for a stroll down the road in the sunshine to Patrice's place.  I'm bringing my knitting 'cuz I'm just about finished my latest project and it's a really easy knit for socializing.  So, headin' for the porch now and I can hear the voices murmuring...can you?

Do you ever go on picnics? When was the last one? Do you go somewhere with benches and tables, or do you take your own blanket?   Picnics are one of the more fun ways to eat, I think.  No blankets, but we don't need to have a table, either.  Our favorite picnic is to just  gather up food from the fridge and take it with us to eat on a walk by the beach.  There's always a rock or a piece of driftwood to sit on.   Or we might stop at a market to buy some goodies to eat if there's nothing suitable in the fridge.  Pretty disorganized but any food outside is yummy.  I wonder why that is?

What's your favorite tropical fruit?  Mangoes, mangoes and more mangoes. The Ataulfo are the best but I can eat any of them quite happily.  I like guavas, too, but they don't travel well so not much opportunity to eat them unless I travel.

Wendell would like me to ask you if you've ever ridden a horse? Any pony rides as a child?  Yes, Wendell, I did ride as a kid.  When I was about 8, my friend had an Apaloosa and I used to go the stables with her and I got to ride as well as muck out.  I was even a member of our local pony club.

Describe the purse you are currently carrying. If you don't use a purse, what color is your wallet?  Large, brown, faux leather shoulder-bag with handy pockets on the outside for my sunglasses and keys and stuff.  Soon to be traded for a more summery article.  Soon.  When summer comes.

Please tell me the last funny thing that you just recently remembered. This can be something funny that happened to you in the past, or just something funny that you remember.   Hmmm...apparently, humor is pretty one-sided with me.  I get a kick out of pretty silly stuff.  Latest example is in the photo above.  I can't help smiling when I see her.  I want to break into song:  "Rubber Duckie, you're the one".   The funny part to me was leaving her in my son's bed.  Very disappointing...he just ignored her.  Bodacious and determined babe that she is.  Oh well, I told you.  Silly.

This has been fun.  I'm slowly catching up with my blog reading and even comments are getting written.  Now, I'll just visit a bit more before I have to get back to the world.  Thanks, Patrice for hosting.  Love that iced tea.

Love that purple polka dot bikini! I totally agree with you on the picnic. And any food does taste yummy outside.

I love the rubber duck, and also love mangoes! Not so big on picnics as I don't like my relish to be ant filled!

I used to go on lots of picnics when the kids were little, just simple stuff like french stick, apples and crisps; stuff that was easy to organise and available in any small shop along the way.
Now they won't go with me (boo hoo!) so I don't bother any more...or is it because we haven't had much decent weather the past couple of years.
I'm intending to do a walk along the cliffs from Bray to Greystones one day this summer, so I will bring a picnic that day. Now all I need is the sun!
