Housing market

Here on the North Shore, the housing is plentiful and cheap.

If you're a chickadee, that is.  They fly in....

Show an interest...

Then get really serious about looking.

This one even hopped right inside and had a good look at all the furnishings and appliances.  Then, with a piece of nutshell in its beak, flew away.  We'd read that putting some nut husks gave them some nesting materials.
So, we have a furnished home to let.  But when they fly off with the bedroom suite, or the dishwasher - what are we supposed to think?  Is it not what they want and they're getting rid before they move in?  Or are they stealing the furnishings for a nest in a more upscale home down the road?

Ah, well.  We'll learn soon enough.  Last year it took ages for them to settle in to the house.  And now that  we have two houses on the wall, they're concentrating on the newer one.   We're still hoping for two families.

That's a very nice house! Does the top come off for cleaning it out? When the next female comes, too bad there's no way of knowing if it's the same one or not. Great pictures of the househunting!

They may be stealing the copper pipes and hawking them down at the local scrap yard.

Wednesday, when I was putting out some seed, a little chickadee was just fussing up a storm at me. I was late getting it out there. Shame on me! Hey, are you posting your bird shots on Springman's site for World Bird Wednesday? You should! Your pictures are great!

One of the problems we have in this country (for business) is "upward only rent reviews". So don't make that mistake, your tenant wll go bankrupt and move out!!!
Love that house, if I was a chickadee I'd be moved in there in a flash. If you get two families, will they have street parties?!!

Thanks for the chuckle, I've been watching the chickadees back and forth only for 2 days now and it is great to see them. Your house is nice and I'm sure the furniture was just a little old fashioned, you know colour and styles change so fast.

that is a fancy dancy house, I thought they would be lining up to move in...

The birdies are finally coming back to our area as well, saw my fist red winged blackbird and robins this week.
