Second time round

The vest is finished...just in time for wearing out in the garden.  I think it's going to be perfect.

It has pockets.  That makes any garment perfect for puttering around the yard.  Holding bits of string, gloves, a seed packet or two.  Oh, yes, pockets are very handy.

I named this vest Rusticity because the yarn was so, er, homespun looking.  It was the dye-job not the spinning.  Definitely not a prfessional bit of work - note the uneven tones.  But it is fun,  And there's not another one like it.  I frogged a gold sweater from a thrift shop.   Now I'm wondering if that yarn had ever been frogged before.  That's a thing to set the mind racing...how many sweaters have there been knit before with this yarn?

And just because my brain works in weird ways, I started thinking that the name looked like 'rusty city' which is very appropriate for this rainy climate under to the North Shore mountains.  This is where moss grows way better than grass - suits me - and anything metal left outside even overnight is well on its way to rust.

The photo shoot was all of five minutes - the sun came out and I wanted to take advantage! The sun is still here this morning.  It doesn't rain here all the time.  Really!

It's a beautiful vest. I like the colors and the pattern. It's very flattering on you. Glad the sun cooperated. Can you push your fine weather a little further east and share, please?

I can't tell that the tones are uneven, it looks pretty, and meant to be that way. Perfect for a gardening vest. What does it mean to frog a sweater? At first I thought it meant to put those frog things on it that are like button loops.

Great use of that wool for the vest. Love the colour. The wind has been bitter, and fresh snow on the mountain again, I am surprised that you lasted 5 minutes.

It turned out GREAT! I'm so impressed!

Things rust quickly here too--humidity and salt from the ocean.

I really like that vest, especially the pockets and cables. My daughter frogs thrifted sweaters for a lot of her yarn. I think it's a fabulous idea!! Kudos to you!

I does look perfect for gardening as it will keep your torso warm yet leave your arms free to work.

Very nice vest, yes it will be nice for venturing around the yard and garden when the weather gets nicer.

When you frogging yarn, does that mean you take something apart and re-use the yarn?

It is beautiful!
I love all the different stitches, reminds me of my Aran-knitting days.
And I love that word "puttering"! You definitely need pockets to putter.
