Anticipation

My knit along yarn has landed! And I managed to wait a whole day before I got out the needles and swatched for the Farmers Market Cardi. So far, so good - no adjustments needed.

I love the yarn. It's so smooth and soft. Nice to work - not too slippery even with the bamboo content. It does appear to have different shades of blue like faded jeans. I can't wait to start!

Here's what will keep me honest...

I have finished a picot bind-off over the 500+ stitches along the top of the shawl. Then, to finish off the two shorter (hah!) edges, I'm making a simple gored flounce with 2 increases between yarn overs every other row. There are about 30 of these v-shaped gores on each side. I've got a long way to go - right now I have 13 stitches between and I'm aiming for 29. Then I plan a picot bind-off here, too. No. I have not done the math.

Doubt I'll get any socks knitted in between.

Fabulous! I love the shawl and can't wait to see it completed. Those bind offs are always more epic than we think they'll be, aren't they?

I love your denim yarn. Your cardi will have a lot of depth.

Oh that yarn looks delicious! I love that indigo-ish blue color.

Wow--you knitters just astound me. What a lot of work goes into these projects. How do you find the time? But Stephanie I have to say that I seriously covet the cardigan you're starting, especially in that beautiful denim-like yard. I bet it will become a wardrobe staple. Maybe I should commission one like that from you....?

Rudee, hip - I love the blue, too. It's not always easy to get the color right when you order online. I wasn't disappointed.

Joanna - I'm glad you like the yarn and pattern. I knit for fun - and to keep my hands busy. Let's see how this sweater turns out... then we can talk.
