Red all over

Yesterday was the big day!  The Olympic Torch came right by our house.

While we waited, we kept warm with food and drink....

The crowds aren't very big - these are just the messengers.  It'll be another long wait for the runner...

The next runner waits.....

And he's gone!

We all walked up to the large community gathering - over 10, 000 people wearing red and waving flags!

And we followed the Torch to our Senior Center where the band was playing....

This man was kissed by Canada, I think.

The relay runners arrive in a big group to hand off the Torch....

And then, suddenly, it's so quiet.  We all gather up our flags and walk home through the rain.
I believe that every one of us is a different person now.  Somehow, we're all a bit taller. Must be the flag.

What an experience of a lifetime, and over 10,000 people - quite the show of patriotism! And now with your photos, I feel I've been able to experience it, too. =)

Well, I have been expectantly waiting for days for this post. And I must say, your pictures are everything I had hoped for and more! I don't know much about this, and I thought it would be just a man running past with the torch. But wow! A once in a lifetime experience, for sure. I actually have goosebumps now. Thsnks for letting us all share this special moment.

How exciting it must have been to see the torch pass right by your nest.

I love the winter games, well, watching them anyways.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your special day!
