Just basics

Packages coming in the mail still excite me.  Surprises are the best but even when you know what's going to be inside, it's still an adventure waiting to happen.  My elann  yarn order came.  They are such speedy shippers!  But even so, I was getting anxious to see the goodies I had ordered.

Aren't these colors all so happy?  There's sock yarn  which makes great gloves - as well as socks, of course.  And some alpaca/silk for more gloves - it's the pretty dark green in front.. The dark red wool will make this vest.  Sorry, I can't figure out how to download the photo.

I have cast on the first pair of gloves in that pretty dark green.  Oh, it's so soft and light and, I hope, warm.  To heck with all those other things crying for my attention...I have new yarn!

I need to make some more mittens; maybe I'll use some of my sock yarn. Thanks for the idea!

These are beautiful colors. They even look good all together. That's the fanciest, prettiest vest I've ever seen. They used to call those kind of closures "frogs", but I don't know if they still do.

I am peeking through my fingers. Gosh, I have terrible yarn envy right now.

Such gorgeous colours! I've only ever ordered from Ram Wools in Winnipeg or Mary Maxim in Ontario. Enjoy the lovely soft yarn. I'm going to check out the Elann site as well.

Deb - I was wondering when someone would notice that! I needed some plain yarn for the gloves which aren't for me. I'm not giving away my beautiful gift yarns.

Very nice variety of colors. My eyes are drawn to the red at the top and the dark green at the bottom. Love the look of that vest you're going to make. It will be gorgeous in the red!

I was supposed to take a beginner's knitting class tomorrow but it has been canceled. Now to wait another two or three weeks before it is rescheduled. =(
