Saturday scene

Looking back a bit...

This cormorant was found resting by the ferry dock at one of the Gulf islands last fall.  They're quite common here on the coast.  Cormorants can often be seen standing with their wings outstretched - drying them in the sun.

What a nice surprise. We are birdwatchers, so love any posts with birds in them! He does, in fact, appear to be resting. After clicking on him, it seems that his eyes are closed. I've never seen a real one. I'm talking about you on my post today.

I wish it was warm enough to spread my wings and sunbathe.

You have such interesting wildlife. Still no news on the critter scratching at your home?

NICE shot! Cormorants are rarer here in Ontario and quite shy...at least in my experience.

Great shot of the cormorant, he is a beauty. We need to get over to the coast more often, I really miss the ocean.
